Our Mission

Both Directors Chris and Luke have extensive experience in private practice and professional sport as physiotherapists. Both have realised that there is a big difference in the service delivered in these two settings. To bridge this gap they bring High Performance Rehab and Sports Physio practices to the general public of all ages and varying injuries. The therapists aim to get you back to your activity of choice. This activity may be as simple as walking or gardening, getting you back to work at your pre-injury status, or getting you game ready for your chosen sport. The therapists will strive to get you READY TO PERFORM in a timely and safe manner while also preventing re-injury. 

 

ASSESSMENT & DIAGNOSIS

At HP Rehab & Sports Physio, we have experience in assessment of musculoskeletal injuries. We aim to accurately diagnose your injury.

 

TREATMENT PLAN

Therapists will provide you with a treatment plan on how best to manage your injury. If you need to see Sports Physicians, Orthopeadic Specialists or you require further investigations (X-Ray, MRI), we can direct you towards other High Performance industry experts. 

If required, we will give you a High Performance Rehab Planner with a clear plan on when you should be completing your rehab, other training and other activities. Having a clear plan will give you the direction needed in getting you READY TO PERFORM. 

 

TREATMENT - MANUAL THERAPY & MAssage THERAPY

Physiotherapists and Massage Therapists offer a range of manual therapy techniques to manage your injury in conjunction with rehab. This is aimed at restoring correct movement patterns and/or alleviating pain.  These include:

  • Soft Tissue Therapy - various massage techniques.

  • Massage - Our in house massage therapist is available for 45-60min appointments

  • Joint Mobilisations / Manipulations - getting stiff joints moving again and/or alleviating pain in joints.

  • Dry Needling - using acupuncture needles to get you moving and/or to alleviate pain.

  • Taping - various taping techniques.

Rehabilitation is what we strive to do best! This is what sets us apart from other clinics and we believe this is a crucial part of the physiotherapy process.

REHAB PLAN

If required, we will give you a High Performance Rehab Planner with a clear plan on when you should be completing your rehab, other training and other activities. Having a clear plan will give you the direction needed in getting you READY TO PERFORM.

REHAB CLASSES

Our Physio's design your rehab strength and/or rehab running programs and tailor them to your injury. They will coach you through your program in a small group settings in our gym or on field. This is a cost effective way to be supervised doing your rehab.

REHAB PROGRAM ACCESS

We can offer you an online program which you can access on your computer or smartphone via an app which is built specifically for your injury.

GYM MEMBERSHIP

We have a gym for our clients, which is purpose built for rehab, strength and conditioning training. We offer gym memberships for those who require equipment to rehabilitate their injury.

Physical exercise is the best preventative measure for many diseases and injuries. Playing sport and exercising can be a safe physical activity if people are well prepared by regularly performing specific strength and fitness programs.

Strength/power and fitness programs not only prevent injury but also have performance-improving effects for sport and exercise.

Programs target correct movement patterns, increasing trunk strength and developing targeted lower limb and upper limb strength and power for your exercise / sport.

This doesn’t just include the active population who are looking to prevent injury for their sport and exercise. But also, those who may keep getting injured and need to recondition, those who may need to be preventing falls, have sore joints / osteoarthritis (OA Management Program), have osteoporosis in their bones, or those who may want to get healthy and into shape.  

 

How the Program is Delivered

Book in for an initial consultation with one of our physiotherapists and they will get an understanding of what you are after and individualise a program based on your needs.   

You can get trained in a one-on-one setting in our gym or join our classes in the gym or on the field.

You can get testing completed to get an idea on your movement quality and strength/power development and any differences you may have between sides of your body.
